Situation of the Indonesian Football
Dear Honourable Minister,
We would like to congratulate you for your recent nomination as such an important Ministry and to thank you for the kind letter addressed to the FIFA President and brought by the delegation led by Prof.Dr.Richardus Eko Indrajit who visited FIFA yesterday.
We share the concern of the President of Indonesia with regard to the long on-going and worrisome situation of the Indonesian football. FIFA and AFC have been very much involved in trying to find adequate
solutions and we appreciate your initiative to assist in providing conducive environment for all football stakeholders in resolving the on-going disagreement between the involved parties.
Since September 2012, both FIFA and AFC made clear that Indonesian stakeholders had to implement the following:
1. Reunification of the two leagues
2.Revision of the PSSI statutes
3.Re-installment of the four expelled PSSI Executive Committee members
4.Agreement of all parties to the Memorandum of Understanding from
7 June 2012 on the list of delegates to the PSSI Congress based on the
list of the Solo Congress of July 2011
The situation of the Indonesian Football has been debated regularly at the highest FIFA and AFC levels. As you may know, the situation is now becoming more than urgent since the case will be discussed again by the FIFA Executive Committee during its next meeting scheduled on 20 March 2013. It is clearly expected that the four above-mentioned conditions be met in order to avoid potential sanctions.
We sincerely hope that your efforts will yield good results since it would be sad that the numerous Indonesian football lovers be deprived of their favourite sport because of the selfishness of some groups of
interest.
Yours sincerely,
FIFA
Jerome Valcke
Secretary General
